Raziel had never been one for hurrying when it came to most things in life. He was old and tired even if he looked the complete opposite. Hurrying took too much energy and yielded so little result. He could only shake his head now as his companion insistently pulled at his hand, trying to get him to hurry.

He smiled at the boyish grin on the young man's face. His companion's blond bangs bobbed as he bounced on his toes. Something about the whole attitude made him smile but he was not sure why. Perhaps because the young man was not as dead inside as he was.

"Raz, you're walkin' too slow! Hurry it up! We're gonna miss it!" The words were chirped happily as his hand was tugged again.

"Miss what, Spyro?"

"The big surprise!" Raziel could only blink at the young man. He sighed softly and picked up his pace again. The two walked through a massive hall made of yellowish bricks carved from smooth stone. The sound of Raziel's heavy boots and Spyro's light shoes echoed off the wall.

Raziel blinked in the dim light of the semi-dark corridor. He could see them coming to a light as Spyro pulled him out of a corridor. The sight before them was stunning as the young dragon pulled him out onto a high balcony with a stone staircase to the side to walk down onto a massive grass covered cliff overlooking a vast, calm sea. Massive trees of various kinds speared the sky.

The sky above was bathed in twilight blue. A swirling, flowing mountain range of clouds crawled throughout the unending spanse. Shafts of white light cascaded down from the crescent moon. They lit the fluffy waves of moisture in a ice blue glow.

Ice-colored stars spread across the sky.It was if an artist had tossed up a handful of glitter above a new painting, each little fleck floating down like rain onto the canvas. Some seemed to swirl as if blown along by a lovely summer zephyr while the rest looked like the freckles of the sky. Moonlight dripped through the sea of stars and waves of cloud like silver water flowing unto the cliff's trees.

Raziel could only gawk in amazement as his pale hands gripped the marble railing of the balcony. Spyro sat atop said railing, facing Raziel and looking up. the young dragon lowered his head to smile at his companion, he was not sure he had ever seen him in quite a state of bliss and awe. Spyro crossed his arms and grinned at his pal.

"You said you like mapping stars and midnight cloud gazing. Welp, this is the base place across the Dragon, Forgotten, or Avalar realms. Only the best for my best of friends, Raz!" Raziel could only chuckled happily at the view of the world before him.

"This is amazing. I never got to see stars so beautiful in Nosgoth, I think I will like this place very much. You have my dearest thanks, my friend."

Just a story that hit me. ^^
